Himachal Pradesh’s Mukhyamantri Mawan Dhiyan Satkar Yojana gives Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 per month to eligible women in the state. Phase 2 registration opened from May 15, 2026. Beneficiary cards are being distributed from July 1, 2026, and payments begin from that date.
The scheme targets 52 lakh women across Himachal Pradesh. If you are an HP resident and have not yet registered, the window is still open.
What You Get
Women below 60 years of age receive Rs 1,000 per month. Women above 60 receive Rs 1,500 per month.
The money goes directly into your Aadhaar-linked bank account through DBT. No middlemen, no office visit once you are registered.
Who Qualifies
Permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh for at least two years.
Age: 18 years and above.
Income: The scheme primarily targets women from families below the poverty line or from lower-middle-income households. Families with an income tax payer or a regular government employee earning a full pension are generally excluded.
Marital status: No restriction. Married, widowed, divorced, and unmarried women all qualify.
How to Register
Phase 2 registration is through the official HP government portal and through CSC (Common Service Centres) across the state.
At registration, carry: Aadhaar card, HP domicile certificate or voter ID showing HP address, bank passbook (Aadhaar-linked), and a passport-size photograph.
CSC operators process the registration at no charge. Private operators charging a fee are not authorised, report them to the district administration.
Beneficiary cards are being issued from July 1, 2026. You do not need the physical card to receive payment, it comes through DBT regardless, but the card works as proof of enrollment.
Payment Dates and Status Check
Payments are expected monthly, around the 10th of each month once distribution begins in July 2026.
To check your payment status after July: visit the HP social welfare department portal or call the state helpline. Your district social welfare office can also confirm your enrollment and payment status in person.
If You Were in Phase 1 and Missed Payments
Phase 1 enrolled women in the first drive. Some women found their payments delayed due to Aadhaar-bank linkage issues or incomplete documentation. If you registered in Phase 1 but have not received any payment, visit your nearest CSC or block social welfare office with your enrollment number.
The state government has clarified that pending Phase 1 payments will be cleared alongside Phase 2 rollout.
Comparison with Neighbouring State Schemes
HP’s Rs 1,000-1,500 is lower than MP’s Rs 1,250 (Ladli Behna) and Maharashtra’s Rs 1,500 (Ladki Bahin), but higher than most states that offer no monthly transfer at all. Given HP’s smaller budget and mountainous geography, where benefits delivery is harder, the scheme covers a large proportion of the state’s women.
We have covered the Ladli Behna MP scheme in detail at indiansouls.in/ladli-behna-yojana-mp-2026/ and the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin scheme at indiansouls.in/majhi-ladki-bahin-yojana-maharashtra/ for those looking to compare across states.
For women in HP who also want to explore income generation beyond the monthly allowance, the Lakhpati Didi programme through SHGs is available in HP too. We covered it at indiansouls.in/lakhpati-didi-yojana-2026/.
What Happens If Your Bank Account Is Wrong
A common reason for missed payments: the bank account registered during enrolment was later closed or became dormant. Since Mawan Dhiyan Satkar pays through DBT, a failed bank transaction means the money bounces back without any SMS notification to you.
If you have not received a payment after the expected date, check two things first. One: is your bank account active and Aadhaar-linked? Two: does the account number in the scheme records match your current active account?
To update your bank account, visit your block social welfare office with your enrollment slip, old passbook, and new passbook. The officer can update the account number in the state system. Expect one payment cycle delay after the update goes through.
Documents You Need Ready at All Times
Even after registration, keep these available for any future verification:
Aadhaar card (original and a photocopy). HP domicile certificate or voter ID with HP address. Current active bank passbook (Aadhaar-linked). Enrollment slip or beneficiary card number.
HP periodically runs reverification drives for all women’s welfare schemes. Women who cannot produce documents during a reverification camp may be temporarily suspended from payments. Getting removed is far more hassle than the 10 minutes it takes to keep your papers organised.
